Rear Defroster...

Not sure if this is that right forum so please move it if it's in the wrong one.

My cavalier had the rear windshield replaced before i purchased it from the dealer who had it.
They replaced it with a windshield that has the rear defroster stripe things on it.
I wanted to see if it would be worth it to make it functional? or just let it be?
I guess I'd need the HVAC for a defroster too but what else would i need?

thanks for any help.

Would be easiest to just rig up a toggle switch to the wiring, only problem with that is are you gonna remember to shut it off after 10 minutes of letting it be on, and will you shut it off when you turn the car off (can run off switched 12V to cover this one though). On my 2k, it shuts off on its own after 10 minutes. I dunno if thats to save the defroster, or the wiring, or the glass or what.
