hey guys i was at work today inventorying a wrecked 2005 Sunfire coupe. when i noticed something really weird. it had a leather wrapped steering wheel! it looked really nice. this is the first time i have ever seen a leather wrapped wheel in an 03+ J. is this a stock option or is this wheel just a one off?

i see a lot of 03+ J's at work and ive never seen this steering wheel before.

Are you sure its not just one of those do it yourself wrap jobs?

no it looked really professonal, about 90% of the wheel was wrapped except where around the "spokes"

If the wrapping goes around the spokes, it's one of those aftermarket kits.

Just like in '95-'02 Sunfires, the Sport Interior was an option on '03-'05 Sunfires as well. It included a leather wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and e-brake handle, driver lumbar adjuster and passenger seat back pocket. This is straight from the 2003 Sunfire dealer brochure I have in front of me by the way.

Will an older wheel fit the hub in your car? I swapped in a very nice OEM leather-wrapped wheel onto my '00 Sunfire SE; it was a great upgrade.

I'm rather impressed with my "Wheelskin" aftermarket cover. It comes close to OEM quality, I think. Yes I've ditched those floor mats in the meantime.
