I need to replace my stock vinyl shift boot.......Shifter rubs on it and makes 1/2 gears rub even with a shaved ring. I saw one on a car but cant find it again. Does anyone know where i can find one?
Dunno about suede, but you can get Italian calfskin leather ones ordered up from redlinegoods.com. They have MANY colors, all sorts of thread options, and piping options, two tone boots, you name it. Price is right at 66 bucks shipped for e-brake AND shift-boots. If you have a short shifter though, be careful when specifying how short it is, I specified 1 1/4" shorter than stock, but when I got it it didn't fit at all and they had me send it back and they sent me a replacement that fit like, well, a leather glove.
the suede one you seen was prolly Jason aka Sndsgood. I believe he made that himself.
figures.
Greg,
How sort did you ask for? The one that fit that is. I have a B&M btw.
its pretty easy to make one. just use the original as a template
I have the B&M also. I ended up sending the plastic frame the boot attaches to with the boot itself to the company because the height was right, there just was not enough material around the bottom to let me stretch the boot over the frame. You might shoot them an email first. But I originally ordered it 1.25 inches shorter I believe. the e-brake boot fit perfect first try. If you do decide to order them, when you get them, take a few minutes crumpling them up in your hands, wad'em up like you would a piece of paper. It really helps to loosen them up and make them more supple and soft. Its a good idea to condition them really well before you put them in too. I used Meguiers leather conditioner.
use the old one as a template and make a new one
