Is there anyway to swap a 00+ cluster/dash into a 98?

I have a 98 cav with a mechanical cluster, NOT digital. Would it be possible to get the...ecm? ecu? pcm? I dont even know what it is. From a 00+ and also the digital gauge cluster from a 00+ And then have a Gm dealer program my miles into it and then continue using the digital cluster rather then my mechanical one? I'd REALLY like to have a 00+ dash.

use your same cluster and get a new dash did it just a few days ago in my 99 z only had to cut a little from the dash for the cluster to fit
not unless you want a digital odo.

Oh, really? Can you post pics of how the 99 cluster looks in the 00+ bezel?

you still keep the gauge bezel as in the piece that comes out with the whole gauge

Did you swap out anything behind the dash? I also thought in order to use a 00+ bezel the stuff behind the dash had to be swapped out with the radio/hvac placement was different?

you have to remove the entire dash and replace with a 00+ dash inorder for the radio to fit and the hvac just the bezel will not work because it is too big since the 00+ used a double din radio

That's what I thought, a big chunk of my top dash broke off after being cracked for awhile so I had to do that anyway. Awesome, thanks alot man.
