I know this might sound weird but I want to know if anyone else has encountered this. When it rains, the carpet on my drivers side floor is wet. Anyway, I pulled the carpet, found some mold (another issue), and used heaters to completely dry out the car because I wanted to find the leak). So next time it rained, i opend the door and saw a small puddle of water sitting there....it doesn't appear to have come from the firewall, or up in the dash because everything seems dry, but it looks like it's coming through the floor (near the black patch that is there). Is this possible? I find it hard to believe because the car was stationary the whole time so I don't know how it would come through the floor. All the seals in the doors were dry, the walls were dry, firwall was dry, just the small puddle. Has anyone experienced this or know of a solution?
TIA
i have the same problem in my 2005 cavalier, same spot too. its right under the left side of the driver floor mat. its driving me nuts. i replaced all the weather strips and it still leaks. my next idea is maybe one of the drain tubes for the sunroof is leaking because its only been happening in the last few months.
i can't really offer any suggestion on how to fix it, but if anyone has a suggestion im trying them too.
on a side note id better rip up my carpet i was trying to figure out why my car smelled nasty. thanks for the info.

It's not coming from the floor...
I have a leak that forms a wet spot in the same area. It is coming from the top of the door. The weather strip is bad. I get leaked on while I drive in the rain, too. Replace the weather strip and report back.
my talon had this issue,, i did the poor mans solution.. dril a hole in the floor for water to drain out
I had that problem with my 2005 cavalier. I took it to the dealer and they pulled out all the carpet and everything to see what was causing it. Turns out there is a seam on the firewall under the cowl that is supposed to be sealed with rubber sealer. It wasn't fully sealed from the factory so the rain was coming in and soaking the carpet and padding. They resealed it and I haven't had any more issues.
Inspect the inside seal of your windshield (left-side). If so, use silicone seal to re-seal found at a auto parts store.

I had heard about bad weather stripping so I made sure to check it, and it all appeared to be dry...I think I'm going to sit inside the car with all the carpet pulled and get someone to spray down the outside with a hose to see if I can figure it out.
miss aligned door?
I know the top of my door is bent out a bit (as if someone locked their keys in the car, and pried on it to open it). When going threw a car wash or a heavy rain, it'll leak a bit from there.
And if you still have lambo's on your car they might need adjustment.
Also, 2nd gen's had this problem because of the wiper cowl. Leaves and such would get underneath it, jam up the drain spots, so the water would end up on the floor boards as well.

I've since taken my Lambos off, but they did damage the weather stripping...I'm gonna have to do some tests with a garden hose.
Thanks for the responses...gives me some more ideas where to look.
