im looking at buying a cobalt ss leather back seat and JW if anybody has install one and done it yet and how similar the mounting is between the cars... im not planning on using the sections that fold down, just the bottom piece.

In all honesty brad, it would be horribly simple I am sure. Just bring the ride on up to NW Iowa Customs, and we will fit her in. Some times it just needs a little kissy wiss, smoochy smooch to cooperate. And why not throw the fronts in?
well, i honestly havnt had the money to buy the fronts, they are usually pretty expensive, ive found a set on car-part.com for $375 shipped and that was the best deal ive found as of yet, the only reason im buying the back seat is because its $160.00 shipped-a KILLER deal if i may say so myself...i just couldnt let it pass me by, i gave up buying my addco rear sway bar for this, which sucks ass... but it'll have to wait til next month.

There isn't a whole lot of "bolting" when it comes to the rear seat. The usually just clip in and such, so there usually isn't hardly any modification at all as long as the seat fits withing the sides of the car (which most any two door rear seats will). If the back of the seat sticks above the flat part that goes to your rear window, you have to make a little cover piece for it.

as nice of seats as they are, since they say gto, they jus dont fit in the cav, would be nice if they were stitched to say z24 tho
like the back seat but not big on the fronts mainly because of the GTO on them

Oh, me either I guess. You are all just jealous. You are saying you don't like the seats because they say GTO on them? You totally ignore the DRASTIC improvement over stock seats in comfort, look and leatherness? Its not like they say Ford or something.....

ive personally sat in paul's car and the comfort is simply amazing, if i could afford them, i would buy them, of course i would have to re-badge the gto, but thats not the point, the point is they look freaking AWESOME, and paul doesnt really care about looks-he wants to go fast.

1 They are nice, and the GTO doesn't look that bad, but because you don't have them, you don't like them.
2 You actaully do like leather seats, you just can't afford them so therefore you don't like them.
3 You are jealous, because you are sufficing for some cheap ebay racing seats that will be horribly uncomfortable.
4 And yes, the stock seats do suck balls.
But whatever. Back to the Cobalt seat issue.............

so anyways, yes, back to the topic at hand... i have an 07 cobalt sedan where i work (hertz) and i checked out the mounting etc, looks like the little clips on the lower section might be the exact same ones and in the same location (i hope) but the rear fold down section is whats going to be a bitch... as it has 2 seperate latches-one on driver side and one on the passenger and a cavalier has just one in the center... so oh well, im not going to use that section anyways, maybe i can hack it up and use some of the leather for my door inserts?
Interesting....I'd love to swap out my stockers (and the A2s I have that are recovered in OEM material) for GTO or Cobalt seats...front and rear!
I'll follow along here and look to do this next summer when I return to the states!

were there any modifications to get those rear seats to fit? or did the just pop in and use all the factory hardware?
