Whats the difference between the 03+ dash and the 95-02 dash in a sunfire? Is it just the top dash cover or is it the whole thing?
The 95-99 dash is also different from the 00-02 dash.
If I'm not mistaken though, all the dash tops are interchangable. The top is the same from 95-02. If you're changing to the 03+ dash, you need the ducting as well for the vents.

95-05 upper dash pads are interchangeable. You do not have to swap the ducting to change from 95-02 to 03+. The 95-02 ducts will work just fine.
The lower part of the dash structure for years 95-99 use din and 1/2 stereos, while the 00+ use double din ones. Also I think the 95-99 have a different dimmer switch for the interior lights.
Thanks guys. I was looking to swap in the 03+ Sunfire dash in my cavalier since I have the infamous dash crack and I love the way the 03+ Dash looks. I know I also have to switch out door panels as well but what bout trim molding? And will I be able to use the 95-98 Sunfire Cluster with the 03+ Dash?
As long as it is a Sunfire cluster, then yes it will work with any year Sunfire dash.
I'm looking to swap to the 03+ Sunfire dash as well. I have a '99 Z24 with digital odometer so would a '99 Sunfire cluster w/digital odo be a direct plug & play with no mileage issues? Are the connectors for the plugs the same between Cavs & Fires?
Now knowing that the 95-99 Sunfire dash bottom will work with the 03+ top is a big help because I can keep my radio/CD(on top) & HVAC(on bottom) setup. I guess I would still need to remove all of the brackets, venting, etc. to install a '99 Sunfire dash? And I know I would need the door panels, too.

I know it can fit, but isn't it kinda ghetto? The ducts are shaped to fit the vents.
Not really. You can't really see any difference in them. They function just as well and you can't see that they aren't shaped to fit.
hey chris99z,
I think the plugs are different but Im not sure, One thing I am sure of is the mileage is stored on the cluster itself, unlike the 2000+ cavs and fires that has it stored on the BCM. you would have the mileage whatever is on the particular cluster you get.
^^Junkyard. Try car-part.com. You can find them with the airbags blown really cheap, and just replace the blown airbag cover with any 95-05 cover.
