The reason I ask is because I have a 2002 cavalier. It originally had a tan interior. I swapped it all out with the graphite color. However the first set of seatbelts I came accros were from a 96. The plastic around the seatbelt buckle is shaped different. So I have been wanting to get a pair of 00 and up ones. The next issue is that the older they are the less they want to recoil and it is getting anoying. So I want get ones from a wrecked 2006 cavalier with low miles if the seatbelt buckle is the same. Thanks in advaance.

i would assume all 95-05 J's have the same setup, but cant say for sure
ps - cav's were not produced in 06
Aperently they are not all the same because the one from the 96 had a different plastic part around the buckle. I meant an 06 model although it would have an 05 build date. The year does not matter that much, just trying to find low mileage seatbelts if the buckle is the same.

no, the last MODEL was in 05, making build date in 04-05
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
wade... have u tried just calling a local GM dealer and seeing how much brand new ones would be?
i get a pretty good deal at my local dealership, i'll call them and find out how much a set of brand new 05 seatbelts would be.
ok, well... i found a BIT of info out...
my contact said that the ones for my car would be the ones 97-00, and after that he didnt know if they were any different... just that when i said 98 he said those were the years that came up.
so... why would 95-96 be different and 01-05 be different... i d k...
anyways, retractors are $60 each-belts are also $60 each. so im lookin at $240 for brand new belts.
im thinking thats high as !@#$. but thats the way it goes with GM direct stuff.

there from a 2005 cavalier. graphite. they are asking $50 ea, but you can probably get them for $35 ea.
u can always count on Jamie!!!
damn.... if wade doesnt buy them i think i will!!!!!
Occasionally I see sets on Ebay... I know I sold the set out of the 'trailer project' there... Got $100 or so for the full set.
The rear set is slightly different on the 03-05 because of the middle belt having a shoulder harness, instead of just a lap belt.

Hey thanks a bunch man. People like you are what make the org a great place
I called Swift Auto Salvage. They said they have a set from a 1999 2 door. They also said they have a set from a 4 door. They did not say what year but I would assume that it is the 2005 you mentioned. They swear there is a difference between 2 and 4 door seatbelts in the front. I am pretty sure that the front seatbelts between a 2 and 4 door are the same. I do not know what the difference would be. I will try and go check them out in person and see before I buy though. The rear seatbelts are a non issue since I keep them tucked under the seat anyway.

I got a full set of graphite ones from a wrecked '02 at our local U-Wrench-It for $20 or so.
Got a full set of graphite ones out of a 2000 for $12, and got some like new carpet dark graphite out of a 99 cavi for $10! Got to love the U-Pull-It junk yards!
There are 2 types.
One locks with a pendulum. (older)
One locks with a fast reacting movement. (newer)
