Im thinking of buying a full cavalier interior minus, seats and carpet.... fiberglassing the whole entire interior, adding the typical 3 gauges in the bezel, and angleing a 6.5" in each door panel. Who would be interested, and how much do you guys think a fair price would be?
so you're saying fg the dash, bezel, door panels, back seat side panels, center console, while installing 6.5" speakers in the dash, and the 3 gauges where the heater vents are?
yes fiberglassed dash, fiberglassed door panels with 6.5"s in them, fiberglassed center council, fiberglassed rear panels, fiberglassed bezel with 3 gauges where the vents were.
i would be interested in some parts but I wouldnt know on a price
that would pretty cool. how would we do it. we send the pieces to you. you fiber glass them then send them back to us. i would be interested
SIG coming to an org near you!!!
what about rear deck or headliner?
normaly thats what i do with customers was to have them send me your peice!, but this time im going to go buy a interior to sell.
as far as the headliner and deck, i can if u want to!
well when you said full interior minus seats and carpet i figured the headliner and rear deck would be included.
i think if you did all of that, somewhere around 450 would be a good price for it
450 maybe... depending on what i get the interior for at a junkyard, i think normaly junkyards sell them for $200-$250... and with materials i wouldnt be making anything, who knows im going to start pricing interiors in the next day or so!
I know at Teamprototype.com they sell just fiberglass door panels for $400 a pair. Headliners usually run around $300 PLUS oversized shipping charges, Dash custom with guages around $175-300 (depending how much is done), and center CONSOLE (not council
) is around $150 as well...
So personally I would say $1000 would be a fair price, but like $650 would be a great deal!
I know its more than the average J-body owner would LIKE to pay, but that's minimum fair price, IMO.
Good luck on this venture Mike, sounds like a great idea, and if anyone has the skill to do it you do!!

Definitely sounds too pricey
well i just threw 450 out there cuz i didnt know what u could get the pieces for.
Id go along with the $1000 offer. You figure how many hours it will take to do them, atleast $15/hr, materials, shipping, the pieces themselves. Id say 1000. But like he said, its too pricy for most JBO people. Most want something excellent quality at a cheap price. That should be at least the minimum.
We own cavaliers... we dont have 1000 dollars.

sorry but $1000 dollars for an interior.....thatsd just rediculous. i know alot of work is involved, as ive done mine a couple times, but thats why it dosent pay to sell custom glass work. the price u should get isnt what people are willing to pay. especially when its a J-body and its pretty easy to learn yourself
just my $0.02
ya i totaly understand that a grand would be to much!. Depending on the price what I can get an interior for, im thinking 400-500 in primer, or $600-$700 painted
I was just throwing out a VALUE price... because I know Mike wouldn't charge people too much. (He's crazy nice like that)
Anyways....I wish he lived nearby enough to work on my car.

Yeah, a lot depends on the talent and detail that goes into it. i mean shipping alone would be RAPE. My parents own a ups store and i could get a quote if you could estimate the size of a box it would all go in. i also said 1000 because it would be custom, im sure none of them would be the same with little things. and if he does paint them, depending on the color, paint isnt cheap, the biggest cost will be shipping no doubt. goodluck with the sales if you do decide to go through with it, i think your fiberglass talent is amazing.
thanks guys for the comments, we will see what happens!
i think a quality job would be worth a grand. im sure most on here would gripe about the cost but good fiberglassers are worth their money. just for the time invested alone if cost of materials is close to300$ (200$ for panels and 100 for fiberglass, filler brushes, acetone, cloth, sanding pades etc.) selling them for 500 or so isnt even going to cover your time involved. you maybe able to do the 750$ range. but that will be overpriced for 99% of the org who thinks you can do anything for $50.00
bye the way mike you have an email. got something i may want your help on.

very interested keep us posted and would you sell by the peice
yeah if you did a 4 door one about 750 I would be willing to pay, let me know what your going to do.
so if your gonna do some sunfire interiors, let me know.
I agree with what most have stated. I din't see most people, especially on this site, paying what it would be worth to do this. Also, shipping would really hurt the price. But I agree that $750-$1000, especially if painted, is reasonable..

i suggest not bothering if its under 1,000. Fiberglass materials, and your labour shouldn't go under 1000 at all.
Anything less is a steal and i see no point in you doing all that work for so little.
