Hey guys, im having a guy that does tig welding and builds cages make me a harness bar similar to the sparco one. It bolts up to where your seat belts connect to on your b-pillar. Is there any interest from anyone else? Im going to get a price from him today about making one and i will prolly start a GP on them.
He can also have the bars nickel coated or powder coated so that would be an option possibly.

if you dont feel like going thru all the hassel of the GP and people backing out(like they always do), i have one for sale that i had custom built, polished and all. used it for about 1 month.
i tried this same thing before for the harness bars with a 7 page thread of "i want one, but got no money" responses like normal.

how much? I called a authorized sparco dealer in oakland or hayward, CA that said he could meaqsure one up and see if he could make something happen. ( like possibly get Sparco to do one for the cavalier), but I think a roll cage is better for my application.

Sparco ain't making one for the Cavalier. Sorry to burst your bubble but it isn't worth their time and/or money.

i knew they didnt make one for the cavalier....thats why i want to produce them. Im just going to have 10 made to start out with if i do decide to make them, then if more ppl want them i will already have the template. I believe is also stiffens up the frame a bit, not sure how much if at all though.
Not completely sure on a price yet....we'll see

i was thinking of that as well but the way it looks the bar is going to be about 6 inches lower than the seat belt bolts so that you can achieve the 45 degree angle from the back of the seats. That would make it a little hard for passengers to get in and out. im thinking of an alternative now.

Well in the articale i read it said that the harness can be 30 degrees above the shoulders to the range of 5 degrees below the shoulder, so you have that area to work with.

Ok....got everything worked out today and the first one is getting made for you guys to see. They are going to end up at $165 shipped to your door powdercoated black, you can also designate the color you want for an extra $10. I'll have the GP up in a day or two and once we hit 5 people we will start accepting money to ship them out.
We are also going to have subframe connectors in the group buy for $65 shipped with all hardware and powdercoated black, like before $10 extra to designate the color.
