first off, not sure if i should post this here, but im going to ne way

im looking to purchase a short shifter very soon for my 97 z24. Ive looked for a long time and it seems that b&m is the only company that makes them for the 95-99's. I know for the 00 and on fidanza and a bunch of other companies make them but dont seem to for the 95-99's.

Id like to know where is the best place for me to buy a short shifter, and is it tough to put it for a 95-99 since there mroe rare that the 00-05. thanks!

all inputs please

Carcustoms.net is a good place to get it (free shipping )

Installation isn't too difficult --

remove center console,

remove old shifter

install new one and attach shift cables

reinstall center console

Took me about 6, but im sorta slow on stuff im not familar with (plus all of the machine work). They say about 1.5 hours i believe to do it, the key to have the correct tools (another reason it took 6 hours). Car Customs definitly on the shifter, great deal. I'm completely in love with the one i have on my 98 Sunfire GT. As for the knob, no it doesnt include one, but is setup to use your stock knob (which is what i did, that stock clean look).

Ordered mine from Carcustoms...took about 3 hours to install (didnt have all the tools readily available). Like stated above it is made to accept the stock shift knob or most aftermarket knobs. I love my shifter btw...

well 1, shop around and find prices. i know karo at carcustoms sells them and jim at gravana sells them. wheather they come w/ shift knobs or not, i dunno. it would be best to email them.

installing it is cake. make sure your have a dremel through because you have to do some cutting and grinding
