Would there be interest for FULL seat cover sets?
Monday, May 08, 2006 9:51 PM
The upholstery guy that makes the shift & e-brake boot sets for us was wondering if there would be interest for a full seat cover set (front pair & rear bench) for the Cavaliers &/or Sunfires.

The covers could be made in high-grade vinyl or leather... They would be similar to the Katzkin products, but lower in cost. Another positive point is that they could be customized to your liking, and extra matching material could be supplied to cover other interior pieces.

What are your thoughts on this?

It depends on the price. I am looking for a full seat cover set that looks like the pic below.

those are like $40 on ebay+$10 shipping.

I wouldn't mind paying extra for better quality so ill keep my eye on this topic

The seat covers you can get on ebay are nice for the price, but they do not have the perfect fitment and the resistance to wear that a higher quality, pricer, seat cover would have. Look in my registry under the 2002 LS Sport and you will see a small picture of my seats. The fitment is perfect. The lines flow exactly with the seats. There is no rubbing, fading, wearing out, or stretching. The seats look as if they came strait from the factory that way. They are FAR superior then anything on ebay. I know becuase I have had both. Honestly if your looking to sharpen up your interior, a quality product like this would be the way to go.

Im interested, if they cover the seat very well (ie custom fitted) then im definitly in. Black leather or graphite would work, or a combo of the two even.

Oh Also, would be nice to see some shifter/e-brake boots for the 95-99 Sunfire as well (the one where its one piece for both), mine is a little ripped, and ive got a short throw, so a smaller one would be nice.

How about Tenzo replacements for the worn out/faded material that typically occurs.

Good to see there's interest.

We'll be getting a few things figured out here shortly and I'll post back with estimate pricing information.

OOH OOH OOH I HAVE A QUESTION

Any chance he could build them which a lumbar support cushion built onto the cover?
i.e. a chunk of foam attached to or included with the covers that would support our precious lumbars Then the seat covers molded around our seats+the support.

Probably not, but lets see.

I have those in blue, and they wore out and cracked within a year of normal driving and getting in and out of the car. I'd love to get some covers that would last for a while.
