*NEW* Custom DoorPanel Question
Saturday, March 04, 2006 8:36 PM
Hey guys, I've been searching for a while, but nothing has come up so far.

I'd just like to know, that when ou guys put custom speaker pods into your door panels, if you created a new enclosure, or if you just left the back open and created a bass reflex that way or something?

I was thinking it might be a worthwhile idea to create a new enclosure for the speaker out of fiberglass (or wood, if you wanted) and either leaving it sealed or making a small port.

Anyone done this before?

way to get the best sound out of them would be to seal them up. the thing you have to keep in mind is most 6.5" type drivers are designed to play in the door so they need a good sized enclosure to work right. put them in to small of an enclosure and you will lose midbass and not gain it.
