Pedal covers too much rice?
Saturday, March 04, 2006 12:17 PM
I'm trying to decide between if I should get some pedal covers... or would it look to goofy.

I'm thinking about these.

but these one's caught my eye too.

the Ractive one's would be Black chrome, with black rubber things... But since it's black it may not stand out enough. I have a blue shifter and boot being shipped, and thinking about pedals too.

Opinions on what would look good please. Thanks all.

Owned by html. Next time I'll attach the thumbnail better. Darn typo's.

I know I hate it when pics come out too large too.

In my opinion the blue ones are pretty "ricey", but I think the black ones would look okay since they wouldn't stand out nearly as much.

IMO, they look OK, but like J to Envy said....ricey!

Thanks guys... the company I ordered my shift boot from is offering the blue ones for a rediculous price (since I ordered the leather boot) and the black chrome ones would be regular price.

dont do it
they look good in black
but only do it if your going to get actual pedal replacements
when he slam on the brakes or gas the pedals have screws that go back behind the pedal itself and take away your braking and gas pedal
they eventually get pushed off because of the pressure on the screws and its really a driving hazard

How the hell are edal covers ricey. . . This place uses that word way too much. . .

They aren't a hazard. I've had my blue/chrome ones on for a few months and I've never noticed any "restriction" with them or hazard when hitting the brakes. I'd also like to know how it is ricey since you are basically the only one who sees them . . .

pedal covers are rice. its cheap modding which makes it rice. god forbid you spend the money on an actual set of pedals

I'm with Exodus 259. It's like everyone and their brother just sits around trying to id something as rice. I am so %&$! sick of people on this site telling everyone else how something they have or want is ricey. Of course people are entitled to their opinion but come on! I'm just waiting for some idiot to come on here and decide that single tone paint is ricey or that dual exhaust is ricey or that a steering wheel is ricey. So Chuck buy what the you want. If you like the pedal covers, then buy them and to hell with what some rice labelling moron thinks. Okay, I've settled now.

actual set of pedals? have u looked at your pedals lately? Do they look like they unbolt at all? No, so this means u would have to cut your pedals off and weld new ones on. So, you decide.

So let me get this straight . . . Its ricey to buy nice look covers . . .but its not dangerous to cut off your pedals and weld new ones on that could fail???

This place makes no sense . . .

so on your MOMO pedals, they were not just a glorified pedal "cover" that you drilled a couple holes through your existing pedal and bolted on right? It was a complete pedal replacement, right?

maybe he did not see the need to spend more money than he had to on the covers, sort of like maybe making your own "custom air intake", because you don't see the need to pay the high prices of AEM or K&N or any other way overpriced manufacturer.

yeah i see where you are coming from on this one, i would hate to have a ricey assed no name home built "custom intake" on my car too, wouldn't wana let people think i was doing any "cheap modding", hope those pedal covers look alright.

do what you want. its your car you drive it. if you listen to everyone on here you would end up leaving the car stock because there is always someone on here who will think any mod is teh ghey.

people need to stop following the heard and start doing what they want. some people think body kits are rice, some think pedal covers are rice, some thing tv's in bumpers is rice everbody has a diffrent oppinion, but the only opinion that matters should be your own. if your not sure wich one to buy, wait on the purchase until it comes to you wich ones u really like best.

In my opinion, some pedal covers are "ricey". I think the blue ones Chuck Norris Approved Evil Cav posted are "ricey," but I think the black ones would look good because they are more subtle.

I have had my pedal covers on for about two and a half years and they have not come off once. They do not hinder my driving the least bit. I love them!

I have the blue ones in the first pic Chuck Norris posted, but mine are brushed aluminum. I don't consider them ricey at all. If anything they help complement the billet window crank, Billet HVAC knobs, The brushed alluminum Gauge bezal and in a few weeks, my B&M Short throw.

The only negitive this I have to say about them is that they made the clutch stay depressed because the screws would catch on the carpet. Once I gave the car enough gas, the clutch would pop free. I fixed that with some duct tape over the back of the screws and have not had an issue since.

Chuck, it's your car. Do what ever you want. Personally I feel covers can add to a car's interior. Replacements IMO are a safety hazard.

i have yellow metal covers on mine... they can be a huge pain. for some reason they like to fall off and then it just looks retarded...

In my opinion, brushed aluminum pedal covers aren't "ricey." I too have brushed aluminum pedal covers and I think they look good. In my opinion, it's more the colored pedals that tend to look "ricey" because to me they just look cheaper than, say, brushed aluminum ones. I mean, some cars even come from the factory with brushed aluminum pedal covers/pedals. Just my .02 though.

@ Chuck Norris Approved Evil Cav: Once again, ultimately, it's your car so you need to do what you want and not worry about what anyone else thinks or likes .

It all depends on what the rest of your interior looks like. I have aluminum ones myself but I also have the B&M short shifter thats aluminum and the aluminum HVAC knobs so it kinda matches. If you just throw on some pedel cover but have nothing else done it does tend to look tacky a bit IMO. Just trim the interior to match and it'll look fine.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
