1. the shift knobs arent screws on, their clipped in w/ a U shapped looking staple
2. your reverse is down and to the right, not up and to the left.
3. you have more than 4 gears
4. be prepared to get flammed
Granted they are all threaded but if you look at the site there are many hurst shifters available, MANY. and its not that hard to thread the shifter assuming that the shifter tube is big enough to thread yourself.
Maybe he only plans on using 4 gears, LOL
Yes, that knob is gay. Just save up some money for some NAWWWWZ! LOL!
On the website there are many different shift knobs 4 speed and 5 speed, i dont know why i posed the 4 speed. Also how do I make it fit?

Not sure of the thread size, but you will need a tap kit and some elbow grease. I just threaded the shifter in my '02 for a B&M handle. I think the shifter is hale inch, and you can use the jam nut to determine the thread size you will need. Ignore the flamers, as the car is yours, and if that is the knob YOU want to use, go for it. It's kind of an old school look!
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
Well its not that the "flamers" are just being stupid, its that we got a kick out of someone wanting to put a 4-speed shifter on a 5-speed car. I'm sure he didn't take it personal.
No I didn't take anything personal because I knew there was a 5 speed pattern. Also I love the old school look!! And my uncle has the white 6 speed on his 99 Vette and I love it.

He just happened to post a picture of one for a 4 speed. If you'd have read his post and actually clicked the link you'd have seen that.
This post was helpful because I was also looking into a Hurst shift knob, just a different style.
Does the B&M Short Shifter have a screw on knob if so will the hurst ball fit on it?

the B&M does have a screw on knob but im not sure if it would fit.. im also interested in a plain ball like that, sorry but i hate that freakn alum knob. i imagine this knob would warm up quicker in the winter and cool down faster in the summer but i could be wrong
just found this in a quick search :
A little information. I got a hold of B&M this morning. That shift knob (p/n 80560) is compatible with the short shifter for the '00-'04 Cavaliers. It's a 12mm x 1.25 thread
cant help you with the questions about the stock knob tho
okay, our cars, unless youve purchased a short shifter are not threaded...your best bet is to get one that u tighten in the knob from the sides....

Did you mean 12mm x
1.75? I know I'm bringing back an old thread.
I just can't find any 1.25 threads even on the above link
