how do you change the shifter knob. i have the 4 speed auto and the stock knob. i want to see if i can make it shorter and change it to a nicer looking knob. how can i do this?
1) do a search, its dicused weekly.
2) Pull plastic pin out of the front of shifter.
3) Pull shifter up.
4) Put whatever shift knob back on as a replacement
to shorten it, Take a pipe cutter, and cut what ever much you want off. Then your gonna have to cut the yellow inside stick off the same amount. So if you removed 1" of the steel shaft, you need to remove 1" of the yellow rod, no more or you will have shift lock problems.

i got a ichibahn cruz series knob on mine. got it off ebay for $10. retails for around $30-$40. still have to get the boot and shorten it though. here's a pic...

why is the whole where the shifter is so big did you take a manual cover and put it there?
