None that I know of. Not a whole lot you can do with the textured plastic. If it's not a part you can paint, then you'll probably just have to deal with it. It's not like you can buff it out or something.
wild weasel i was following your tutorial when i was painting... i just couldnt get it to work. i did three coats of white primer than i did 3-4 coats of paint then 3-4 coats of clear coat. i let the part set over night so this morning i wanted to do a scratch test on it and it scratched very easily so i ripped off the paint... any pointers.

you didnt sand or clean the door panel?
you need to sand it a little bit and clean it with some alcohol or somethinglike that. then paint it.
i did clean it but didnt sand it

yea, you just sand it to give the paint something to stick too, makes little grooves in the plastic. use like 100 or something
Try the new krylon plastic paint. I got it and it works awesome. All you do is clean the area, let it dry...then paint!
try a red scotch brite, works great.
krylon fusion is the way to go if you want the texture
jsut make sure you clean it good first
try letting it sit longer keep in mind that much paint/primer/clear takes time to dry. you did 9 seperate coats thats alot
I sat my parts on the proch for 2 days in the heat (i know people who sent it for 2 weeks before touching it ) to cure em or in my car etc.. mine doesnt chip, scratch nothing. and as everyone else said clean it/sand it!
Mike Jones..... Who? <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=24&k=hand%20puppet" onmouseover="window.status='hand puppet'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">hand puppet</a>.. play with it enough it will make you go crazy.
I never sanded any of my parts.
Just thoroughly cleaned them and they'd never ever had any sort of armourall or any other products on them.
Each coat I put on was extremely thin. Basically, it took two coats just to cover each part with primer and paint.
What sort of paint did you use? Which parts scratched? Note that I didn't paint anything that would be a high risk of scratching...
