Ok i know this was talked about a ton of times but i couldn't find the answers to the question i have..... I got told this is how you install the gauges

"First off do not remove the needles you just don't have to. The hardest part is removing everything and taking out the big cluster. Than remove a few screws from the back, this will take off the clear cover. Than point all the needles up, and very carefully slide on the overlays. To power them up just hack into the lighting wire, make a ground and your done. To find out what wire is the light you will need a 12 volt tester and turn on your headlights. On his car it was a grey wire in the big clump of wires. It was on the right hand side all by itself."

but when i went to do this the holes in the gauges looks too small to just slip them over ? then i was told to cut a small slit in the gauges to get them to slip over, won't doing that hurt the gauges ???

or if anyone can give me better directions please help

ok i found more info when searching but it still says the gauges just slip over ??? any help???

yeah it slips over, trust me...i've done 2 of them, but if you have a tach and a 95-99, just get something behind the needle and push up just a tiny bit. Or just mark the needle and take off. I had to do that cuz i could not get mine around all the needles.

If you point all the needles up and slide the gauge overlay down over them all you shouldnt really have to cut a slit. I didnt any way. Just make sure you mark where your needles point when the car is off.

without trying to make myself sound like a complete moron where do you mean mark em ??? i didn't think it was a good idea to take off your needles??? so what is the reason for marking them ??? i just don't want to screw my cluster up

just remember where the needles sit so after you point them all up, you can put them back down. I believe the comp resets the needles any way but do it to be safe.
