If youre talking about the part i think you are, you need that. Thats what the motor "transmission" hooks up. The metal rod that the old window crank is what i think youre talking about. If so, you need that.

Did you buy the kit or did you get it off another cavalier?

you can buy a kit that just hooks to the manual window regulator or you can get stock parts off a cav or sunfire. i did both and i'm much happier with the stock setup. i took everything out of the doors except the glass and got everything new. mine's out of a 2003 sunfire. i just got the switches, regs, motors and trans' and ran all of my own wiring. i made a switch holder and once it's painted you won't be able to tell it's not stock. really not hard to do at all. i had a friend come over who already had power windows though so i could figure out what wire went where. you should be able to get the entire swap done in 1 day

I'm planing to use stock parts, i already swap the console for a 2000+ with the switch.
I think i'll do like you sykeeok, but how do you remove the stick where you attached the window crank?? its not bolts....
.... or i'll just buy 2 complete doors with everything power since i have lot of rust.
like this i wont have to swap the regulator and motor and have to repair rust....
i dunno yet... i'll see!
