Ok I have bought my fabric for my door panels matches great. I have removed the plastic piece that is the armres tof the door. I am planning on just applying the fabric onto the original fabric that came with the car. Is this a good idea? or should i strip the old fabric and the foam underneath and then apply the fabric? could someone let me know, or if anyone has pictures please let me know.
thanks a bunch
yeah i hurd it is hard to get that fabric out so i would go with puttin it over!
When I did mine, I put it over the stock fabric. I put some glue on the stock fabric and then put the new fabric on and it was ready..... for some hours 'cause the damn fabric didn't hold on to the shape of the arm rest. I think the glue didn't work on that kind of fabric ( dunno what kind it is), but well I'd probably take the door panels off and do them again. Much better, of course.

Here ya go. Use 3m super 90 ($12 a can). I have done my rear deck and my arms rests. Just spray on the stock fabric and take your time to pull the new fabric tight. Here is a pic.

Thanks. Wrapping the arm rest can be a pain, but if you take your time, it will look awesome. I got the fabric at Joann's fabric store. All it is, is vinyl, and the cost is dirt cheap. To take the arm rest out from the panel, I used a flat tip screw driver and a lighter. Simply melt the plastic welds and pry up on them with the flat tip screwdriver. I re-attached the arm rest using Liquid Nails. Fun project.
