HVAC backlighting question
Wednesday, August 17, 2005 7:45 PM
Hey guys, I have my dash torn apart and I'm trying to see how I change these bulbs for my HVAC. The bulb is held in a small black plastic holder, and I got it out of the hvac unit, I just need to know how to get the bulb out of there. Do I just grab a pair of pliers and pull, or is there more to it? Btw, I have a '00 cavi. Thanks in advance!

i recommend putting a cloth over the actual bulb...then with some pliers (needle nose is what i used) gentlly pull it out...dont want extremly small glass everywhere

Yeah, I pulled my dome lights out with pliers, one came out alright, but the other one shattered in my face. No fun. :-(

I had some water in my fog lamp, and in order for warrenty to cover it had to be 1/2 full of water. so I filled it up and, very stupidly, then put the hot bulb back in adn it exploded and shot glass al over teh plce, but most of it ended up in my arm, lots of blood.
off topic, but kinda funny story i think

Why would you need to pull the dome light with pliers.

They are talking about the Air Conditioner control lighting. Not a fog light full of water.

Obviously they were'nt talking about fog lights, but they talked about exploding bulbs, so I thought I'd throw my story in to the mix
