LED dome and map light question
Wednesday, August 17, 2005 7:03 PM
Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I recently put 194 LED bulbs in for my stock dome and map lights, and noticed that when they go out, they fade, but aren't completely out... anyone else experience this?? It looks almost as if they are still glowing, and I just was wondering if this was normal. TIA for any replies...

My blue ones do the same thing. It shouldn't drain the battery though so I try not to worry about it. It's kinda cool to have the extra lightingat night, in a weird sort of way.

yea..mine are custom made i have 9 LEDs in there and it lights up the hole car for the most part, after i turn them off or shut the door they do DIm...i'm prolly wrong, but i think its cuz they require so little current to turn them on..if you sit there and count..should go completely off within 15 min..

Thanks guys... I have 9 LED in the dome and inverted in the maps. I noticed since posting yesterday that they go out completely sometimes but not others... interesting but oh well... just making sure I wasn't the only one!

My interior neons do the same thing. After I turn them off, they continue glowing for a few minutes. It freaked me out the first time I noticed it .

How did you all get that many lED's in your dome lights? Thats awesome. I have one blue LED in mine and I've had it in there for months and I haven't ran into problems with the battery draining. Mine stays lightly illuminated as well. The Cavi's have the battery rundown protection anyways so after 10-minutes, it does shut off.
