I am painting my door panels upper half black, lower half red, speaker black and the trim around the door handle red.
I sprayed the lower half of the door and the trim around the handle red and let it dry. I then masked it and sprayed the black. when the paint was dry I removed the tape and the red paint started to peel off and when I masked the balck to touch up the red the black peeled off. I seems like they are not taking to the door.
I used vinyl black paint red motoer master red form CT and build up primer
How did you prep the surface before you painted? Have you ever used armor all or some other type of silicon cleaner on the doorpannels before you painted them?
were you painting vinyl or plastic? what year is your cavy?
if you were painting plastic then theres your problem use spray paint on plastic.

I have used a type of wax before but I primed the doors first and when I peeled the paint off the primer stayed on. I assumed the whole door was vinyl.
just the top piece is vinyl. run your finger nails over it lightly you'll be able to tell the difference. how long did you let it dry before taping it off. when i did my center console, i let it dry for a good two days then taped it off and continued painting.
