yes, but besides looks.......why........

as far as i know its the same as installing a tach on a stick.........install tach adapter, install tach

you dont need a tach adapter, just find a cavalier of same year with a tach and pick and pull it and it should work. there's threads of that on the org but ill try to put some links for you later and thats something i wanna do to my car too.

well yeah if you want the tach on the cluster it just swaps, i thought he meant an aftermarket tach

btw i got a question, don't mean to thread jack, but were there ever a 2000+ j body without a tach?? i was gonna add an aftermarket tach but it looks silly to have one on cluster too

if he wants an after market tach then yes he will need an adaptor since he is using the 2.2. if not then you can pull a z24 cluster and swap it in

the simple gauge swap works on 2.2 autos, i did it a while ago, probably like 4 years ago on my 1998. pretty easy to do actually.

im a little confused. i know the 99's are have a digital odo, and it won't swap w/ an older one, but if you find a cluster w/ a tach, its just plug and play? it will read rpms w/ out some extra wiring? i have a 95 2.2 auto, w/out a tach, and its nice to know what your idle is.

my faster car is in the garage...
