I need some opions. I stuck between these two gauges.
Gauge 1 and here is the other one
Gauge 2 And the other question is how hard are these to install? I heard I have to take off my whole dash. This worries me. Can somebody give me a step by step instructions on how I need to install these gauges. Thanks

Thanks but most of that is telling me about the removal of the needles. The auction said you don't have to remove the needles on this gauge face. But I'm curious on the difference between the white and black faces. The black face gauge auction shows a picture what they will look like at night. Will the white ones look like this to at night. Cause that's the look I'm going for. Thanks
yea i think they light up the same, just different faces. I wish they made those for 95-99 cavi's

i think it all depends on the look of the rest of the interior that youre going for. if all black and dark colors then the first but if not then the second. I got white face cuz the black ones seemed kinda pricy just cuz the only difference was face color the glow is the same. theyre pretty simple too hook up.
I can agree partly with the needles breaking easily, but I think if done slowly and correct, it can be done, I almost managed to have the needles off of my cluster, just hit a problem with the speedometer needle and the pin pulling from the motor, but on my old cluster, one without a tach, I had no problems removing the needles at all, as long as you mark where they rest when they stop at the bottom with the cluster out and the needles moved as far towards 0 or E for example, it is not such a big problem like most are saying. Right now I am without a spedometer but all the other needles are prefect and dead on after removing them, and I believe if the pin would have stayed in the motor all my needles would have been no problems, I guess it is a matter or taking a chance, or having the possibility of problems, but it did not seem like a major issue like many are saying about the needles. Hopefully I will get a pic of mine as they are now, for a show, because the main reason I removed the needles was to get rid of the halo that shows up at night behind the needles, because I used the stained glass paint to make the needles blue, and it worked great.

I have heard back and forth about the ebay style ones, i prefer style 1, but if you look at the night pics, they have the lighter blue ring inside of them, i didnt care for that so I went to Speedhut and ordered mine custom, just installed them lastnight here are some pics
They just slide right over the needles, after you move them pointing straight up.
Check out my thread in the photos section for some other pics, but those give you an idea.
From what I have heard of the ebay ones they have a clear laminate thats on top, that bubbles up in time, speedhut has not had that problem

i had those in my old 02 cav. they just slide over the needles no need to remove them
