I scrapped the old CF switch panel I showed you guys before and came up with this:
Now I have easy access to the controls for my underbody and other LED goodies. All I have left to do is install 4 more things so I can do the passenger door!
There are all kinds of places to mount switches in the doors. GM left plenty of room behind the panel. The only hard part is running all of the wiring from the door to the inside.
The lighting in that pic is less than complimentary - I will try to get some at dusk.

The LEDS are actually blue to go with my blue theme. But they are available in Green, I'm sure.
This set-up is much better than the center console, except for the wiring.
You have easy access, and it helps bring the lighting around the seats, for a cockpit-like feel.
Can't wait to do the P/S door!

looks pretty good. my only suggestion would be to mount the panel on the inside of the door. same place as it is now, just cut an oval out of the door and put the switch panel on the inside. it would make for a more flush mount for the switches and an overall cleaner look. either way keep it up...

Yeah, Ben that's kinda what I want to do - the problem is that I have already used up most of my clearance back there and the switches barely sit flush as it is. I'll have to look back there and see if I can get away with some "creative cutting"...
That top switch is on both doors and is for my outer door handle LEDs and eventually some LEDs that I am installing to light up the map pockets.

Don't even waste your time trying to mess with that - I got frustrated very quickly.
What I did was pull the rubber grommets out of their holes and cut a new hole in the top of each end with an Exacto knife. I put all of the wires into a 3/8" length of black wire lume, fed it through the holes, and secured the new conduit to the top of the rubber one with black wire ties. Once I reopen it to put the wire I forgot in (%$#@!), I plan to seal it really good with electrical tape.
Running wire to the door in this manner is not my favorite project, but well worth it in the end.

And i looked earlier, putting switches on a sunfire door would be a pita, there are no flat surfaces.

you wouldnt have to run wire through the wire hole thing, you put em in you door jam around the front and when the door is closed they make contact, open the door no contact.
Wouldnt those door connectors cut power off to the lights when the door opens?

Yeah, I can probably get away with another 1/16" or so to do that if I rewired the switches from a different angle...
I just hate to take a Dremel to my doors - it was hard enough to take a drill to my baby when I wasn't 100% sure everythging would fit....
Guess I will have to dive in and go for it at some point.
