Remove dash piece

Can someone tell me how to get that hard plastic trim piece under the windshield off? I swear its got a crack in it for every bump I have hit. Do i need to take the whole dash off or what?

yah, you have to take off the top vinyl dash part and then the ENTIRE dash, everything... this is for a cavalier right? i think its different for the sunfires

On the sunfires there is a screw holding it on. Its located right under the air vent on top of the dash. After that is taken out, it should pop off.

^ Only the sunfires are like that. For the cavaliers, the entire dash must be removed. That piece that goes along the windshield is the same piece that forms the glove box and the bottom of the dash. Its all one huge piece.
