Raptor that's not a bad place for switches if you're really trying to hide them, but if you need easy access to them that's kind of a pain cause you have to open up the center console each time and reach in. Looks good non the less though. As for Tiny, that looks like an awfull lot of wiring there for just four switches. Also it looks like you are running like 4 guage wire to it all. What the heck are you running off of the switches that you would possibly need anything close to that big of wire. I made a my switch panel in that same place but made the place that the switches sit in cover everything up. I guess it's just not my taste seeing all the wires like that. It looks like you did a nice quallity job on all of it though.
soory about that bad qaulity but maybe this will help, this pick is old by the way, its now carbon fiber and the console is green!!!

I have a round rocker as a master switch where my cigarette lighter used to be. I usually just leave the switches in the console on and only flip the one right next to my steering wheel.

Wolf, I went out and got the remote control one you have. The wires are so short where did you mount this. I have some spare 14 gage wire hanging around here can I just make extentions with that to the batt and ground? And for the wires for the lights, does it matter what one is + and -? Get back quick thanks.
ok, I ran a wire from my battery into the car through the big rubber hole cover right by the steering linkage, and column. as to where I put it. I toook off both panels that are behind the center console, around where the OE ashtray would be, and I found out that whole area back there is empty, so I stuffed all my extra wires for that switch and also my underbody LED wires back there, I used that diagnostic connector screw for the ground for everything, and under the dash to route all my wiring, it is raining today, but maybe tomorrow I can get some pics to help you out with installing it.

Yeah I ran my wire through there also, Im going to mount the box up under the dash at the very top. The wires being so short can *I think that its using 18 gage wire* correct me if im wrong on that. But can I use 14 gage wire to extend the battery and ground wires to where I need them? And also the wires for the lights, the pair of green gray blue ect. Does it matter what wire in the pair is the positive and the ground or can I just hook them up. Thanks wolf, get back.
not sure but I would think it is close to 18 ga, maybe 16, but you can use wire to extend it to reach where you want it to go, there is no set polarity for the colored wires, I used relays with mine to hook everything up, but if you don't use extra relays, I believe the correct way to set the switch up is to ground your lighting, etc. then run the power wire to a power source, to the switch, then to the component that will be turned on. Had to draw on here but lets see if I can give it a shot.
Component power wire -------12v Source----->---------switch wires---->----Component
Component ground wire ---->---- to a chassis ground
I found the relay way easier to read and work with since the power wires on the relays could be daisy chained together. Took extra space because of the relays but still turned out ok.

So I dont want to hook my lights ground wire on to one of the wires for the lights from the switch box.

Thats the best I can do to maybe understand what your trying to say.
Why does the other one have to go to the battery + wire?
hmm, think of it this way, when you press the button on the switch, it send the power through the two wires, basicly the switch stops power from getting to the light when off, when you turn it on, it sends the power through to your light or lights. Much in the same way a relay works, you have your main power wire to a relay, and the light, when the relay activates it connects the circuit thus sending power to what ever is hooked up to the relay. That is about the best way I can think of to explain it, if anyone else has a better way please feel free to chime in.

I understand but it just seems odd you have to do that. I mean I wouldnt have guess you would need to run wires back accross the thing, it only seems like more trouble then it needs to be.
Alphawolf,
I am in the electronics field. You exlained it in a very well, low tech way. I have always been in the frame of mind that if an individual cannot understand basic DC flow, dn't mess with it. You could mess things up.
Again to Alhawolf, good low tech explanation!!!

I've seen shift knobs too that have a wireless keypad built into them. If that's something you may want.

I think ive seen them before, something like them atleast. they sell remote sets just for things like that at autozone so it wouldnt be to hard to make it. Sorry if im a little slow with wires and currents, ect. Its not my strongest thing. I know I asked alot of questions but id rather learn from you guys *people that have done it before* then to guess about something and mess up. So thanks for all the help guys ill be sure to post the picture of my lights then.
Later.
