i have an 02 cavy and my new dash has a hole where a 2" gauge is going to go. The hole is on the middle vent between the cig light outlet and the other vent right above the radio. My question is, since i have to cut the middle vent for the gauge to fit I was told that it needs to be wrapped, howeve i was not told what i should wrap it with. How and what should i wrap it with?

glass it? i need to cut the air duct i should of specified that before what do i wrap the air duct with? black tape or some special tape?
would i still have to glass it?
