Hey guys!
Cavalier Extreme will soon be offering a solution to the cracked dash (or sort of at least). This piece will be the entire size of the front of the dash, and will slide right over top of it. It will be available in fiberglass (painted black) or wrapped in carbon fiber.
We hope to have some type of progress within the next few weeks and will be providing a few pictures.
We're not sure on what the exact price of it will be, and we already realize that a lot of people would rather just cover the front of their dash with vinyl instead of purchasing a piece to go over it. What you want to do is your choice, this is just another solution.
As of now, I just wanted to announce this to everyone and let everybody know what's in store. I'll be sure to update this when we have something finished!
Thanks

The dash is not as hard as people make it sound just fix the crack , I wrapped that dash piece in vinyl, liquid nailed it first, I have had this done for about 8 months now and still holding
Yeah, a lot of people just wrap it up in vinyl (that's what I did personally, until we started working on this). I just think it's a neat alternative, especially since we can do some cool carbon fiber work.

I would be interested depending on the price. See I would wrap the piece too but you have to take the whole dash off to get to the piece and the only way i would do that is if i had my gauge overlay in, and i was that far into the dash. but if there was an overlay piece that would be awesome. I can see shipping a problem since it would be somewhat flimsy. But i do not see that it should be a very expensive piece. I would be interested in pics when you get them.
Whatever you do don't rape people on price with this product. It really is a great idea for those who do want the hassle of having to remove their dash and setting an outrageous price on it would just kill it.

I would be very interested, as long as the price is reasonable, and post up some pics when you finish it.

Great that you are comin out with some nice products man, keep up the good work!
Yo Shifted,
Can I ask where you got your dash from? Did you have it installed did you do it yourself. I'd also like to know what part number this is?
Thanks!

id take rather have a fiberglass one that i could paint so that it would be cheaper to me. Ill take pics of one too please.
Jamie-
Bought my dash off a private party, extremely cheap. I don't have a part number from GM, but that piece is around $350. Either way, the installation will be done by myself, since I don't feel like paying somebody for something I can do myself

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
honestly i would make it a small piece just to cover the back area where the crack is
it would be easier and alot less expensive for all of us
and make a nice piece for people to add to even a dash that isnt cracked
then i would offer a piece for the dash pad
with both parts seperate , it will allow the dash pad to be removed seperate of the piece under the window
making easier axcess to inside the dash
hell yeah im down
.....stupid crack...........
"dude, thats a girls car"
NOT ANY MORE!!! PSHHHTTT!!!!
feer teh CRACK!!!
if mine was cracked, i'd be more interested
Cool
You say it will slip right over, just wandering what you plan to fasten it down? The sunfire pieces have the little clips that pop in......It would probably easy to drill a few holes and have yours snap into place similar to the fires.

Yeah, we've got a few ideas. I'm not sure what the exact plans are as of yet though. We might end up making it to where it'll screw in (one screw on each side of the dash layover piece), or possibly have it snap in somehow (such as the crack that seperates the front part of the piece to the actual dash...snapping in there somewhere).
I'll keep everyone posted.

I like this idea a lot better than just a whole dash piece.esp since my dash isnt cracked, just the piece by the window. I say seperate them and make 2 different pieces.
i have no crack, but dont wanna pull the whole dash to paint it, so the cover is alot easier

i would post this in the third gen forum too, they talk about it a lot in there

What about 3M 2-Sided Tape?? Some of that stuff you can buy would stick for like 100 years!!
Plus no Cutting/Drilling would need to be done.
