Only shift knob I've seen for automatic cavaliers was a nice Momo one, but I was wondering what other ones are out there. I'm having real trouble finding anyplace that has them, and the last two shift knobs I tried from Autozone and Pepboys didn't fit.
I'm not sure how many companies make them, but i love the momo automatic knob.....im getting one and putting a shift boot in.....to make it look more sleek instead of a black pole
try going to car toys or looking at Ichibahns website ....heres a pic of mine
apc or one of those other companys make them
i got one from checker auto .(in wis.)it is a polished fat stick kind
i have seen them at autozone or at advanced auto(in fl.)
also check out r.k sport .i beleve i seen them there too
i made my own in machine shop and it turned out better than expected. it 's made out of aluminum and i was planning on putting leather around the handle piece. i will try and post pics, and i am selling them to friends and other j-boy enthusiasts so if u are interested let me know at foreverwinter99@yahoo.com
the ichiban looks really good. if it had been red/white instead of red/silver i would have gotten it years ago.
obx has some nice knobs too....but good luck tracking a dealer down that has some.

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
i bought a 15 dollar one from pep boys...vertical cylinder with the botton on the top.
none of the damn adapters fit it tho, so im just gonna say SCREW IT and get a manual knob, and push the whole thing down to engage the reverse lock-out.

I decided to go with the Ichibahn Cruz in red. Just ordered it from Crutchfield.
My only worry is that it won't fit the shift stem. The one from APC I got from Pepboys was very loose and didn't have a tight fit.
BTW, Yellow Cavy: Awesome, awesome job. That's exactly how I want to do my interior, except in red.

ryan: unless you can find an all white one, i prob dont need any. but do you guys actually have them in stock? thats what i could never track down was an obx dist that had them in stock...
and personally....i have a stock knob from a cav. no idea what year (95-99) but its simple. not too skinny, but still very nice. i like it much and the stock z knob was nice too.

like this red02z24?
but without that stearing wheel cover.... i have taken that off...didnt like it anymore
That's the exact one I got, 96Z24Colorado. I am having an issue with it, though...
It's on, but it's not all that tight. When I shift, you can feel the shifter moving a bit within the gap between the stem and the shaft of the shifter. Any way to fix that?
Thanks!

yeah it should have come with some plastic spacer pieces...you probably dont have one of them on there..they look like caps but the only problem i found with them is that since its a cap and it fits over topof it....it doesnt allow you to push down the button....so its either have it fit right and not be able to shift or have it fit loose....so i solved the problem by cutting the closed end off of the cap so it doesnt have a closed off end...then push that into the hole on the bottom of the shift knob ( oh ya .. you have to use the biggest plastic fitting it comes with) and once you have the plastic piece in the shift knob just jam it on there...it will take a little force but it wont come off or move unless you want it to..mine has never moved or come loose on me and it works great

Heh. I had a feeling it was something like that. I didn't use the plastic/rubber piece because yeah, it covered the button.
Maybe a better solution is to wrap a bit of electrical tape around the top of the stem, just below the "button", so that it won't jiggle. Electrical tape would do the same job as the rubber piece, and is easily removable.

ya i didnt use the plastic peice at first either because it covered the button but after i cut it it worked great......i would suggest doing this...
it is easily removable if you pull on it...it just doesnt come off on its own
i have a obx there is no button.... just pust down. cost be like 30 bucks at top speed (local tuner shop)
" I may have a four door... but it makes your girl's thongs hit the floor"
I got the chrome apc one for 11bux from advance, came with some of those caps too but didnt need them. i like it cause it goes all the way down, like JTO envy said.
