Basically I just bought an '02 Sunfire and the interior was trashed so I set out to restore/upgrade the interior. I bought a decent set of used seats and other interior bits out of an '05 Sunfire and a set of door panels from an '01 Cavalier. After some cleaning with simple green all of the seats and my carpet look almost new again.
Here is my issue, my original seat is a full folding back seat and the new one is the 60/40 split. I'm not terribly worried about the latches snapping into place on the seat back, but I can probably swap the latch system over from the donor if need be.
However, that's not even really my concern. Both seat backs mount in differently. My '02 had a rod that went all the way through the seat and slid into holes on either side of the car. The new seat mounts in on the same studs as the seat belts I believe.
My main question is has anyone else ever made this swap? If so, what was your solution? Do the seat belts mount on top of seat bracket or under it?
Thanks for all the help l everyone!
