My cigarette lighter plug no longer works on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT. I had it tested by someone i work with and he said that it is getting 12v so it isn't disconnected. There is some dirt and poppy seeds (i eat in my car a lot
in there...is it safe to clean it out? (obviously i have to take out the fuse first) also, does GM make a replacement that has the cap instead of cigarette lighter? i'd much rather have that
Does your horn work?? Cause the horn and cig lighter are on the same fuse

Not GM but I put one of these in most every car I get instead of the lighter:
It looks like to me you've got two options..
1. Quit smoking
2. Quit eating in your car
Just to be safe, might want to do them both.
