Can anyone confirm or deny whether W body seats will fit in a J body? I read somewhere they might fit, but they might be too wide? Would like to confirm whether or not they fit, as I can get a free set if they will.

I can't say for sure. But I believe they should like you said. Bracket swap. But don't quote me. Even if they don't n the end. U got them for free. And can sell them for cash
I think they require a new bracket to be welded but I think theyre way too wide. Compare the width of a J and a W-Body and youll see what I mean. Hahaha.
I think I;ll probably take some measurements and see what happens.

The center console in a W body is a lot wider in a J body. They might be a bit wider but i think you should be able to get them to fit. If i remember i'll measure my dads grand prix tomorrow for you.

I have seen a lot of F-body seat swaps in the j, but I could go for the Grand Prix leather......subbing to see if it is possible.
I just wanted to update, I tried to get the seats in, but they pressed against the center console and pushed against the door pretty bad. A little too wide.
The grand am seats that I traded the grand prix seats for fit perfectly.
