stickerbomb finish

Anyone on here have ideas on how to put a finish onto my sticker bombed armrest? I don't know whether to go with a gel coat or just like 10 coats of clear... Its the center console in a 5 spd so I don't want the ink to get effed up when I constantly rub my elbow on it.... input?

you would have to coat it in a resin, not just spray clear on it

You can just clear coat it.

hence why it looks nicer and lasts longer

you CAN just spray some clear over it, but its not going to last or make it look any better. spray auto clear isnt thick enough to level out the unevenness left by overlapping stickers nor is it designed to be used on vinyl stickers or the like. to get the "glassed in" look you need to use a clear resin similar to what they use for carbon fiber or other composites.

Ive seen Schultes lip and it seems to be holding up fine for being right on the ground. Its not perfectly flat but I guess it depends what you want to go for.

That's on the outside though not being constantly rubbed on. I think clear coating exterior parts would be fine. On the couple of exterior parts I plan on doing I will do several coats of ppg clear. On the armrest and custom gauge pod I will do resin.

On a related note I have one door sill done and the armrest stickered, looks way better than I expected pics I'm p&m soon
