for those of you that have yours painted or wraped or what ever the case may be, how did you go about doing it, i want to smoth out and paint my center console but i'm not sure how to go about doing the lid between the seats, i know its got some soft vinyl on it but if i take it off is it going to be a problem to paint underneath or?
any insight into this would be appreciated

Mine is a '96 fire.....took the lid off..then took that vinyl stuff off...sanded the hell outta it( progressively )...high build primer, more sanding, paint..color sand..clear, clear, clear...sand with supper high wet/dry...polished to a shine....you can find C/F covers or maybe a paintable fiberglass one ....

Was the difference in width over the console very noticeable ?

The 00+ console I'm putting in I melted plastic under neath and on top of the holes..sanded, sitting in primer till tomorrow...I'd love to get a c/f one, personally
