Ive read that they work but all of the pics in the threads that I looked at arent available anymore. I found a good deal on some Trans Am WS6 leather seats and I want to see how they sit in there.
Also curious about this...
They'd need a lot of custom work, that's for sure. You're right on the floor in an fbody. Would you want to hook up the air too? I don't find them to be the most comfortable, but that could be because I sit in them in a WS6, which is hardly a comfortable vehicle to be a passenger in. The air does help a bit.

Actually you dont need any custom work really unless you wanna run the extras.
They are a direct bolt in to a J.

Don't they sit a bit low?
not really the seat bucket in a j is higher then a fbody thats where the main height difference comes from.

Isnt all of the air and electronis stuff controlled by a brain inside the seat? So would I just have to wire up power and ground? Ive read that in the older threads.
Yes I know the power seat and seat heaters are self contained but no clue on the air.

If Jeffie ever gets to some work for me we'll know
What year model F-body's have the direct fit? Any specific or just the 4th gen in general?
3rd and 4th gens not sure about any others.

I have done this swap but not with the powered seats. Pretty much a straight forward swap of the brackets from the seat bottom. All it is is 4 bolts that hold the bracket on. As for the difference in a Jbody vs an Fbody, the seats are wider by about 2 to 3 inches and makes it feel like you aren't being squeezed while you drive. I have always liked the firebird/camaro style. As for the years... anything from around '83 (I think) up to the last year of production (except the New Camaro) which is '02.
Dont even need to switch the brackets they literally bolt right is as is.

What about the back seats? Will they fit?
Ravaged83 wrote:What about the back seats? Will they fit?
I think the back seats are a bit small and are a "splitseat" design due to the axle link running under the car in the center. If I am wrong...feel free to correct me. It would be nice though.

You're dead on here the backseats will need work to be used.

Okay, well that sucks. Let me ask this does anyone know what other cars back seats will work and if so any pictures? Oh, and what happened to TheSundownFire (JBO Chat)'s question about pics anyone have them?
I remember seeing someone do a black leather monte carlo interior (front and back seats) with minimal modification. But I can't find the thread for the life of me.
Nothing is really a "direct" swap for our back seats but the back seats are much easier to work around then the fronts.
As for pics he is waiting for me to move
