New Steering Wheel 03 Cavi

Hey guys,
I want to get a new smaller steering wheel for my 03 cavi. I was looking at some on eBay and found a few that come with hubs and a lot that don't. Are these legal to put on? How hard is it to install one? Is there a good brand out there for my car that doesn't cost a fortune? Thank you!

As far as i know there isnt anything illegal about changing your steering wheel. And as far as one being better than the other, just depends if you want plastic, leather, or suede i guess, and however much you want your brand name sticker to cost that attached to it. They all attach mostly the same.

They are legal to put on as far as I know but should you sell the car it would probably fail inspection due to no longer having the airbag.

thats why i figured they were still illegal because of the airbag thing. ive searched everywhere on how to install one, and all i found is that you need a hub ring to attach it. not very helpful considering you need a certain size and certain holes. too confusing to me, but a smaller wheel would handle much nicer and look nice also.

I dunno if it's different over there but here in Nova Scotia Canada, the air bags can be fully deployed and they still our MVI's like that. The only Light that fails is the ABS.

You need to check local regulations to be sure, but as far as I know, you are not allowed to remove an airbag from a vehicle that was manufactured with it, so an aftermarket wheel would be illegal. I know for sure that in MA, ME, and NY it is illegal to do so, but I'm not sure if it's a state regulation or a federal.
