Grab it, pull it really hard until you hear a ripping sound and it comes off.

Just take the headliner off and see what its attached to. I have an aftermarket sunroof so I am not sure but I am sure once you take the headliner off you will be able to tell.

i did remove it. its too dark to go out there now but i can get some pictures.

theres a black "bracket" thing that holds it that has a screw and a bolt on each side. i thought if i removed those i could get it out but it didnt work. im just afraid to mess something up up there so i figured i would ask before i went any further.

there are four push slides two on each side of the the slider. Open the moon roof just enought to lift it and have about 4 inches from the front and you will see them push the pins in and lift up then remove by sliding it out the back of the moon roof

yeah as jons said. open the sunroof a few inches, get out of the car and look into the opening and you will see two pins on either side of the panel, depress them and pull the piece back and up out of the opening, the other two will be on the far side.
