Im interested in swapping in some Cobalt SS seats into my 04, or some sort of sport racing seats, the car is my dd so I dont wnat anything too racey. Do the cobalt seats match up and bolt in or would custom brackets and sliders be nessesary? (aside from the power seat wiring) Also does anyone have any recommendation on seats, and the brackets and sliders? Unfortunately I dont have the equipment to make them so I'd have to buy them. Any pics of your seats would be great too
most ractive seats bolt right up to your stock sliders, minus one bolt per seat which an extender has to be welded onto the bracket.
no the ss seats dont bolt right up
You can try to find some 82-02 camaro/firebird seats, I read on here that they bolt right in without any custom brackets.
ive got seats out of a 84 fiero in my 97 fire... they are comfy as hell and even have the speakers in the headrests
... and the factory cavalier sliders bolted right up to them
The leather 'balt SS seats DO NOT bolt right up by any means. If you you dont have the means/know-how to cut and weld, steer clear as alot of work is needed to make them fit. (but when you put the work forth boy, oh boy, are they a nice upgrade)

Sorry to thread jack,
but I have Recaro seats from a Saturn Ion Redline.
So I would like to know if anybody else has installed them, and what all needs to be done to make them fit in an 02 sunfire?
Also, I can't seem to find the how to on making your own sliders etc, so if anyone could post that I would appreciate it
So its not possible to remove the brackets from the original seats and modify them to the new seats?
GMR has got nothing on this

The tracks on the Cobalt seats are attached to the seat back (genius GM engineering) and therefore cant be removed. Technically, you could mount the Cavy brackets onto the Cobalt seats bracket but you would need to (1) be a midget or (2) cut a hole in the roof for headroom because they would rediculously high.
