i have a 99 z24- did the sunfire dash swap afew years ago but never put the brackets on. Does ne1 have ne tips on how to properly get them mounted and not crooked? Ne input appreciated.
The brackets that the 2 armrest 10mm bolts bolt into- theyr riveted onto the sunfire and without them everytime you grab the armrest to close the door it weakens the doorpanel- mine need replaced because they eventually got weak from no support, fell off and cracked.
bolt them in with a good size washer and lock washer simple

Alexis: Dustin, you're ghey, lol. I am better. I have tits, and tits rule all.
I have 2 cav doors on my sunfire.. the sunfires and cavs have the exact same holes in the doors... you just need to find some sunfire doors and take the brackets off then re-rivet them onto your doors.. it's not that hard of a job just make sure you have a strong drill and some fresh bits...
ok let me rephrase myself..... the problem isnt bolting them up, its getting them lined up. everytime i try they turn out crooked and its hard to know where the rivets should be. Sorry i didnt correct myself earlier.
heres how i would do it,. using the nut and bolt method.. tighten the bolt just enough so it doesnt move on its own., but loose enough that you can move it around yourself. now with a screw driver thin enough. try to pry the bracket throught the holes on the door panel and line up the holes. once you have that done, screw down the door panels an carefully push down the panels push pins. with that said and done. splace one screw into the the open hole on the door panel. once you get that done remove the screw driver and screw that down. DONE lol
oh i forgot to say... once you get the door handles holes lined up with the screw driver go ahead and remove the panel very carefully and tighten the bracket nuts. then place the panel back on and see if the holes line back up still, using the thin screw driver
