Feeler: Harness Bar GP

I know a lot of us have aftermarket seats, and some of us want 3,4 or even 5 point harnesses. As you know just hooking up the rear to the rear seatbelt bolts is not the right way to do it and could really mess you up or kill you if you were in an accident. The proper way of course is to use a harness bar, whether it's standalone or in a cage. I'm gaging interest in one specifically made for our cars by our friends at OEM.

Let's start up a list, I'm sure OEM will chime in as well as to materials and pictures of it once we get some interest.

I know OEM has done aluminum, and I do believe he can powdercoat as well.

I'm going to give some input on the harness bar, I owned the one that RD Fabs offers and it fit great in my 2001 base with stock seats, once I got around to installing my leather racing buckets I couldn't use the bar ( the vertical supports interfered with the sides of the seats). I then sold my RD Fabs bar to Darkstars for use in the GTC and It wouldn't fit in his car at all. I think he had an entire thread on it as well....Read me.

So if this goes through make sure you try it on 95-99, 00-02 and 03-05 just to play it safe. i personally wouldn't buy one not knowing if it would clear my tenzo R seats ahead of time.

Very good point, then the next question is sunfire vs cavalier. We have enough people who can measure bolt to bolt for the b pillar.

Can you do anything about an add-on camera mount for those who record in-car vids? For autox, drag etc..

I was making one but lost motivation seeing that I haven't even gotten out once yet this year..

Just thinking out loud here..

That's a great idea. It would be just a ledge with a hole in it so you can bolt your camera from the bottom?

Exactly, The one I was making mounted to the seat belt bolts and gave a good view unlike most of the vids I have seen where half of the screen is staring at the dash.

Figured it would be an easy add-on if someone wanted this option..

It would, and you could probably specify where you wanted it, or even multiple points.

Looks like a potential product in the near future. This would be a bar that connects from side to side inside the car, about where the seat belt triangulates?

Correct. A bar to go across the B pillar where the seatbelt bolts up to, and then two bars with pivot links to connect to the bottom seat belt bolt. Then there's some sort of unit to keep the belt from sliding left and right when its on the bar.

Looks like price wise would run $200 for non powdered and $275 powdered. For the shipping domestic would be $0 and international would be $40. Let me know if this will work and i can get on them pretty soon.
