my dome light suddenly came on while drivin and both door where shut tight and i dont have a clue what to look for to fix it. The light just comes and goes and i cant drive at night with a light on in the car so help plz

check the switch at the door.. could be worn or broken. and to avoid the issue of driving at night with it on till ya get it fixed just pull the bulb.

i know this sounds dumb, but check your dimmer switch. if its all the way to the top its meant to stay on, click it off.

Okay so i know you arent that stupid, so it may be your dimmer switch as well that is bad.

Check the door pins as stated above, and your dimmer

you can get the door pins as stated above from a gm dealership for $10 each, i have to get 2 for my 01 cav it was doin the same thing.

I've had the same thing happen to me.

Here is the problem your car is over 10 years old, so after time the key and possibly the ignition switch are worn; put the key in take it out, put it in take it out, etc... So now while driving the key wiggles itself out of the ignition (or moves) just enough to trigger the switch that causes the dome light to turn on but then it wiggles again and turns it off.

While driving one night it happened to me so I just pushed the key back into the ignition switch then kind of wiggled it out and the light came back on.

To fix get a new key/ignition switch, just push the key back in when it happens (that's what I do) or just take the bulb out.

Fixing = $$$
Pushing key in = $0.00 out of pocket.
