Guy is selling some 2008 wrx (non sti) seats and am wondering if there's a way i could fit them in.
Other than the obvious custom brackets/sliders would they fit. Here's some specs.
Front: 16.5" center of hole to center of hole.
Rear: 17.5" Center of hole to face of inside mounting plate
door side: 18 inches face of front hole to center of rear hole.
armrest side: 16.5" face of front to center of rear
Thanks!
ooooooo me likey those, do it!
measure to make sure the actual seat fits into the alotted area... then the mounts will do the rest.
I had seats out of an 02 wrx but the way the factory sliders were attached to the seats was odd as they were part of the frame to the lowwer seat it self. ask for some pics of the bottoms to see if it's a simple bolt on and off the ones I picked up were not going to be easy to put in. As a result I sold them and picked up some tenzo r's at a great price.
Based on the width of the sliders I'm gonna venture to say that they are too wide for the j tubs. Same problem with the Cobalt SS seats. I did a thread here on making the Cobalt seats fit (but never finished it cause I cant find the USB cable to upload anything other than cellphone pics) If I recall correctly the Cavy seat rails were 14" in width whereas the Cobalt seats were 17" in width BUT as with anything, it can be done. Do a search for 'Cobalt Seats Done Right' for some insight on making them fit.
Right place, wrong time, right person, wrong situation
i almost bought some Bomz seats because hey, they come with sliders and all...
you get what you pay for...
i know you always here that...
ive heard they are comfy though...and a great deal if you ask me.
so if you take care of your stuff....go for it!
otherwise i found my tenzo r seats on craigslist for a steal
HEY you can always pay $241 for brackets and sliders shipped to your house like cavalierFOX did.
lol
Kinda hard to see the underside of the WRX seats but it looks like you could do something similar to what I did with my Celica seats...
...Grind the mounts smooth to the sliders and then weld crossmembers to bolt to the factory studs.
Could do what I did, just get the stock sliders off the cav seats and put em on your other seats. I did that with 01 neon seats, not too hard to do either except getting the brackets off the sliders on the other seats, which happened to hold the whole seat together. I had to grind out the rivets and unbolt the brackets, attach the brackets to cav sliders and then put the seats back together. I probably did it the harder way, but wanted to keep the same height for the seats cause Im 6'3 and cant afford to raise up the seats on custom brackets as I wouldn't fit in the car anymore if I did
Just my 2 cents

Not necessarily. you can definately fab something up to keep the seats as low or lower than stock...
As for the stock brackets, thats what i used on my seats, and it works great,. I guess it depends on what seats you are using, i was lucky that the holes on mine lined up perfectly..
Those seats would look great in a cav, please please please try and fab something up because if they arent too wide i think the interior would look great.
