hey guys,
just looking for as much advice as possible before i go ahead and start dimmpin my hands into things i know very little about. i have a complete set of aftermarket gauges i was going to use for my custom dash setup. after talking to a few people, i understand that i will have to keep my stock cluster wired in so that the theftlock would still function properly.
what i'm curious to know if it is possible to splice the wiring for the new gauges into the harness of the factory cluster, or if i'm going to have to run completely new wiring for each gauge? any wiring diagrams of the stock harness would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
For the tach, you will need to get a tach adapter (there isn't a feed wire to the cluster). Speedo (B2) and fuel (B5 for signal, 0-90 ohm) can come off the IC harness. Water temp needs a separate sender, oil pressure needs a separate sender. Volt can come off any 12v switched wire.
I think that covers most of the standard gauges
High beam indicator is switched ground (b3)
CEL is switched ground (a8)
Turn signals are switched positive (a4 and B8)
Brake is switched ground (I think) (b11)
man that is awesome! thanks for the great info!

I take it this picture is for the 95-99. Know where to get the 00+ cluster diagram?
Actually, its for a 98, but 97 is exactly the same (same diagram I used to rewire my IC)
Here is the pinout for 2000. Speedo/fuel/brake/brights are no longer separate. They are fed by the class 2 serial wire which comes from the BCM. Fuel gauge resistance changed to 40-240 (I believe that's the range... don't quote me)
