theres a lot of topics man. http://www.j-body.org/forums/search.php?f=45&search=fiberglass+dash&globalsearch=0&match=1&date=0&fldusername=0&fldauthor=0&fldsubject=1&fldbody=0&threadtype=&p=4

taken from one of the topics :

1. You must tear the vinyl off. Like said earlier, drill holes, and fiberglass the back. This way, when you fiberglass the front, it will stick to itself.

2. You definatly need to use mat. Fiberglass gets its strength from the mat, not the resin.

3. One of my biggest suggestions is after you apply the resin, reinstall the piece. Otherwise, it will shrink/warp and not fit.

figured this would help too. got this email from a friend a long time ago.

1.using a grinder, grind off all dash pad matting(to the raw plastic).
2.drill very small holes ALL OVER the dash.
3.clean the dash with a cleaner such as purple power.
4.coat the dash with a good coat of resin with harder using a brush. Once it begins to get sticky, go to step 5.
5.get a bucket, and pure a 1/2 gallon of resin into it. Cut fiberglass matting into small pieces and mix into the resin(make it thick but enough to put on with a body squeege.) Apply a thick coat of this over the entire dash. YOu want this to flow out like molasses
6. Once this sets, sand with a grinder or 40 grit sand paper on a DA.
7. If you break through, apply some more resin/fiberglass mixture.
8. coat the entire dash in fiberglass filler(its green, some people refer to it as plastic)
9. sand with 80 grit.
10. coat the entire dash in a light weight body filler(NOT BONDO). Get high quality stuff. They make this stuff that is in a big tube that is a body filler. It flows like pancake mix. Coat several times and sand.
11. Once you think your done, coat the dash with 1 more coat. Once it sets, spray the dash with black primer. Sand witha block until primer sands off. If there are low spots, the primer will still be noticeable. Fix any low spots with more puddy. Sand again.
12. Primer dash with good high build primer or sprayable polyester.
13. spray another guide coat with black primer, sand until primer is off.
14. wet sand, paint.

fiberglassing has been talked about a ton of times. search. just because its not a dash doesnt mean you can't learn how to do it. fiberglassing a dash is no diffrent then fiberglassing a door. the only diffrence is the shape of the object your fiberglassing. if you dont know how to fiberglass i'd say give up on the dash and start with something small to learn how to actually fiberglass before you try a dash.
