how do you pull the harness through the grommet? the harness has the 2 huge connections that connect to the ecu and im afraid i wont be able to get them through the grommet without stratching the piss out of it. any ideas? i have an 03 standard btw.

All you have to do is disconnect the connectors from the ECU.Then take a razor blade and make a small cut on one of the sides to allow some play in the gromet then stick them through go to the other side hook up the ECU and zip tie it up there.

When you cut the slit into the rubber grommet, it will stretch a good bit to allow you to wiggle the connectors through, just have to get one through at a time. That or pop the grommet out of the hole so it's a little easier to work with, then replace when finished.

It looks like there is heat sinks on the ECU, kinda like a car stereo amp. Does the ECU get hot?

not hot enough to be an issue. chances are the ecu was hotter just by sitting in the engine bay.
