Hi I tried to sell some rims from my z24 2001 to a guy driving a base 2004 cavalier and he told me the tire place said they don't fit and I had to return his money. Is that right ? I know they are the same bolt pattern but he said the offset is different.
They will fit just fine. The tire place is a bunch of idiots.
The rims/wheels will fit an 04 base perfectly fine. I know this because I used those exact rims as winter rims to hold my snow tires on an 04 base model cav. The diameter is larger (16" as opposed to the base 14") which means that different tires are required (base 14" rims/wheels require 195/70-14 whereas 16" rims/wheels require 205/55-16). It is possible that the difference in tire size is the issue and the buyer misinterpreted what the shop said. The bottom line is those rims/wheels
with the appropriate tire size
will fit a 2004 cavalier just fine.
Of note, some cavaliers came with 15" wheels but what was said above still holds true.
ok got it guys I thought this was the case.
He said that they said the hub width was different. I think he backed out of the deal because they probably offered him a better deal.
He also took it to the worst tire shop in town so I don't know.
