Ok so I have an 02 cavi on some 17 with a 205 40 17
And it is lowered on some b&g springs and the car rides horrible
I'm not sure if it's a mixture of the small tires and stiff springs
Or.... But I've been reasons the forums and I know I want a bigger wheel
Like a 20 or 18 I've seen the 20in wheel topic on here and I was just wondering
The ride quality on something like that any info is greatly appreciated thx
Are you still on stock struts? If so, that's your problem.
Also, it sounds like your running tires with too short of a sidewall, most 17's run 45's to stay as close to stock diameter as possible, IIRC.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
the bigger the rim the @!#$tier the ride quality on a jbody!!!!!
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
Well I am on a oe replacement strut I was on a budget
When I replaced all four struts I put Monroe sensatrac
On all corners been thinking about an upgrade to easy street
Air ride but that's later on
You need to go up in tire size. That will help a good bit. Correct size for 17s is 225/45/17s.
And to repeat. Bigger wheel = worse ride. Also less power to the road, fwiw.
And if you are concerned about ride quality...and big wheels...air-ride is not for you. If you want any comfort at all, invest in a good set of coil-overs.
Really? I have buddy's that have bagged trucks
And cars and their vehicles don't ride rough
I had a civic and it had skunk2 coilovers and it
Rode like crap!! My back still hurts lol
Do u have airide on your cavi?
Wat set up are u using if u don't mind me asking?
Looks good!

Is the truck running low pro tires??
I have the older easy street kit....it rides pretty well on 17"s because I can run it at 40psi and its good...but when I slap on the 19"s, i loose all comfort....I have to run between 50-60psi in the back to cut down on rub and it rides like an oxcart being dragged down the street upside down.
Well that makes sense lol thanks I appreciate the help
I like the look of cars n trucks laid out so I think I'm gonna
Sacrifice a little ride quality for that clean look
any difference in the older newer easystreet kit
The trucks had big wheels and fully cut wheel tubs and narrowed axels etc etc
Tire size was about mid size for the sidewall not real sure on exact measurements
The main difference is that the old kit will go lower out of the box. The issue is that the parts aren't available if something breaks on the old shocks... I blew a strut a last season and it took a few months and quite a bit of luck to get another. Part of the reason my 19s ride so bad is that the tires are pretty stretched so there is almost 0 sidewalk flex.
I had the old easystreet kit with a set of 16"s and it also rode like crap. My Tein SS's ride better, are quieter, less of a hassle, and handle better.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
Cool thank you all for the input I guess I will keep
My bagging addiction on trucks and go with a nice set of coilovers
And definatley the right tire size lol
Short sidewall and B&Gs are pretty stiff.

Really? it ac tually feels faster on 18s then it did on 17s to me
Basic physics. The inertia of a rotating mass has a squared dependence on it's radius. So going from a 10" to a 20" wheel takes 4x more energy to turn.
It's possible your 18's are higher quality and made of lighter materials? Then yes that would make sense. But generally bigger = worse.
