My Cav needs tires...

Sooner or later, I'll slap a nice tire and wheel package on my coupe....but for now, I need a good set of stock tires.

The stock Goodyear Conquests are starting to show their age, as the rear driver's is cacking across the sidewall.

No (super) cheapies for my car, and if I'm lucky, I might even get , dare I say, a "sportier" tire ( more grip, please)

It's hard to find a decent stock tire.....what I' m thinking at the moment.....

General Altimax RT

Cooper Cs4s/Mastercraft Syngergy

Firestone 380s

Kelly Navs (work well on the 03)

I do like the Altimax ( 70k tread/war), as they seem to be a pretty solid tire, with some good reviews.....

Bridgestone Ingsina might be another idea.......

Im hoping some people still have stock tires....

cracking on the sidewall can be dangerous. You definitely need to replace them. I would stay away from the Firestones but other than that I can't be of much help.

Falken 615's, Nitto NT01, Nitto 555RII's, Toyo 888, and Toyo RA1's. IMO the last 4 will be the only tires I put on my cars anymore.

I think hes looking for a daily driver street tire, not a DOT race tire... I had a set of Goodyear Integritys on my stock 14" rims and they were a great all season tire. Not exactly high performance but for a fairly stock car DD they worked out great for me.

Yep. I know most people toss the stockies...but- You're right. Good ol' 195/70/14s for now.

I've heard both good and bad about the Integritys, and that the Goodyear Viva 2 at Wal Mart is pretty much the same thing as the GIs, but 25 bucks cheaper a tire.

I've even considered going with a higher end Goodyear tire (Assurance, Tripletreads) also....

How well do the Yokos handle? Are they soft, or more sporty?

Crazy question, but if I can have a little fun....

Decent price....wonder how they handle a MI winter?

(It's funny I say that, since this cav rarely drives in snow)

I'd go with the BFG's. I've never driven on a bad one. They generally grip well, handle well in all weather, and ride very quiet.

I like the look of the Yokos, but I seem to be leaning toward the TAs...

Another nice tire, but no 14s in those....

Those Eagle F1's are crap. That came on OEM tires on the 04 GLI's and they don't last for @!#$, I've NEVER seen a set wear out the tread before getting @!#$ up uneven wear and cupped tread.

Mine are still doing great and I've put well over 50000km on them. tread depth is still checked all green when put on in the spring. I could be one of the lucky one's though, since i do mostly highway km, and i rotate them every 10000km.
